The Effie David Austin® garden rose is a beautiful buttery yellow colored, cup-shaped bloom. From unassuming creamy buds Effie develops into a bloom filled with amber, apricot and zesty orange tones, framed by a halo of pale cream petals. They have a great fragrance and their vase life is about 8 days. This specific type is grown in South America and are packed in 12 stem bunches. Allow up to 4 days to open. Once the roses arrive:
  1. Unpack your roses as soon as possible.
  2. Keep the packaging in place, to support the stems during hydration.
  3. Cut about 1" from the base of each stem.
  4. Place the stems in water with flower food to aid hydration, improve opening and increase vase life.
  5. Rehydrate stems for 4-6 hours in the coolest place possible.
  6. After hydration, remove all packaging. Space the stems in the buckets of water to make room for the blooms to open. Retain guard petals as they will disappear as the bloom opens.
  7. Place the stems in an ambient room temperature to encourage opening.
  8. Opening will take about 2 days. Once opened, place back in a cool area until you are ready to work with them.

The Avalanche rose is also known as Queen of the Roses. This variety has an unprecedented heavy flower petal count that has a bloom that fully opens. They are packed 25 stems per bunch. We offer local California grown or imported roses from top growers in South America. In the winter months, the South American grown roses have a larger flower head than the California grown. If you have a specific preference, you can always indicate on your order which one you prefer. The stem length is 55-60cm and this Avalanche is one of the premium rose varieties.

Dahlias are delicate and have one blooming stem with multiple laterals that don't always bloom. Please do research on care of dahlias before you receive them, as they can be a tricky flower to work with. We ship the best quality dahlias from our local growers but they don't always travel well. Professional refrigeration would be helpful in the summer months and they are sold as is. The stem length on most dahlias is 20-25" with multiple blooms per stem. Bloom size varies from 2.5-5" in diameter. Sold in 5 stem bunches, and the vase life is around 5 days. Have them arrive on a Thursday for a Saturday event so they have plenty of time to hydrate in water before using them in arrangements.
Please note: Our local dahlia production is limited during the winter months. The season starts for most colors in April/May and we suggest ordering in advance. These white decorative type dahlias are grown outdoors and the color tones of certain varieties may vary from the photos.

Sword Fern

Sword ferns are beautiful, lush greenery and an economical and traditional filler for a light touch in bouquets. Also known as brake fern. Often used in funeral sprays. 20-28" tall.  Care and handling tips: Use clean vase or bucket. Cut flower stem ends to create fresh surface to absorb water and remove any faded stem base. Remove all foliage below the water line and place in a clean container filled with cool water and, optionally, floral preservative  If you do not add floral preservative, change the water and re-cut the stems every day or so. There are 10 stems in each bunch.

American GrownOur locally California grown silver dollar eucalyptus has a generous sized grower's bunch. The scented silvery-green leaves are round and coin-like. Upon arrival, cut the stems and put them in fresh water in a clean container. These growers size bunches have an average of 10 stems, but ultimately depends on the size of the stems. Cannot ship to Hawaii.

Seeded Eucalyptus

We procure Certified American Grown seeded eucalyptus has a bunch with 5 or more stems (depending on their size). During April through June, the seeds are what they call cupped and look slightly different and availability can be limited during this time . Leaves are circular, 1-2" in diameter, and are clasping and closely spaced on the stems. Stems are woody, and are 12-18" in length. Plant is a broadleaf evergreen tree, the leaves have an aromatic, medicinal, or lemon-like fragrance. They are available year-round. Remove bottom leaves if present, recut stems and place into water with the provided fresh flower food. Cannot ship to Hawaii due to agricultural restraints.
